What's Seedcamp All About?

Nagios Seedcamp is about innovation - bringing new ideas and concepts to fruition. With hundreds of thousands of users throughout the world, Nagios is the biggest force in the OSS monitoring space. The Nagios Community is teeming with ideas of how to expand and improve Nagios' capabilities for the future. We're sponsoring Nagios Seedcamp in an effort to help the community develop exciting, new ideas into viable projects that can be useful to the greater Nagios Community.

The Rules

In order to participate in Nagios Seedcamp you'll need to develop an addon, plugin, widget, or other cool thing for either Nagios Core or Nagios XI.  Valid entries into Nagios Seedcamp include:

  • New projects that don't exist yet
  • Private projects that haven't yet been released to the public
  • Significant improvements to existing projects

Please note that patches for other projects aren't appropriate for Seedcamp.  Seedcamp projects that are submitted need to be standalone applications or "whole" addons, plugins, wizards, or components.  Seedcamp proposals and projects must be submitted to Nagios Exchange for inclusion in Nagios Seedcamp.

Sources of Ideas

Coming up with an idea for a project proposal is simple.  If you need some inspiration, there are many ideas on ideas.nagios.org, and many pre-existing projects on Nagios Exchange that can get your creative juices flowing.
